WATER WRITING SAMPLES

During the month of February, every one in the school followed the "February Writing Calendar".  Every day, we had different ideas for writing about the subject of water.  Here are a few samples of our creative writing.

Who am I?
I am a type of shark who lives in the ocean.

I have layers of dangerous sharp teeth.

I have three fins and a tail.

I’m gray, black and I have a white belly.

I sleep floating in the H2O.
I eat meat; I adore eating fish.

I am a great white shark.

A Whale In My Tub

One day I bought a new toy for my bath tub, a rubbery whale. When I tried to wash, the whale came to life. I guessed that my Zest soap makes things become alive.

The whale was floating and flapping in my bathtub.  I did not know what to do. I panicked and stepped on the whale. The poor whale suddenly looked dead again.

When I took the whale to the hospital, the nurses and the doctor looked at me very strangely.

I am an attacking predator who lives in the middle of the ocean.
I am one of the biggest sea creatures in the world.
I think that humans are like sea lions to me.
I will eat almost anything. Can you guess who I am?

A playful dolphin.

Played relays with the Orcas.

Swimming gives you exercise.
Swim all the way to Australia.
If you go swimming and you tie on to a tree and you swing off and you will make a big splash. Motorboats drive you out in the middle of the lake and then you can swim all the way back to shore.

Message in a Bottle

Chapter One

I guess it was about 5:15 when I awoke the next day. I couldn’t remember much of what happened the night before, just a chef running past me with a fire extinguisher, an Englishman with a handle bar moustache, and a loud thunk on my head. As I started to stand the pain in my head was excruciatingly tough to handle. After awhile the pain in my head died down, but it was still there.

As a geologist, I knew the islands whereabouts, name and so on. The island was Flint Island and it was fairly close to the Tuamoto Archipelago, a large group of islands. Some had people on it, and I hoped that a fishing boat from the archipelago would pass.

Now my focus was a fire. I could stand sleeping on the ground for a day or two. I started to collect driftwood when I noticed the almighty beauty of the sunset. It was unexplainable. It was…was…just magnificent. It made you wonder…how? Oranges and reds and pinks, like a normal sunset but different.

And then I saw it, a bottle, a translucent green bottle with a cork stopper. Since I was knocked unconscious and counted as a castaway on this island, I felt some hope. As it floated ashore I ran to it, excited and anxious to see what was inside. As I opened it, I thought, it could be a bad thing, but that thought was erased by, ‘What if it’s a good thing?"

I opened it and it read…

Dear Reader

And that was all. The rest was washed away because the water had found its way to the ink, and so, I thought, at that moment, all hope was lost.
