Greek Ships

James, Ryan and Steven

We built this boat from a old planter that was the shape of a the boat. Steven's dad (Roger) helped us with the building part of it. We did the rest like sanding and painting.
About Ancient Greek Ships Our Ship
The Greek ships were used to protect the people of Greece during the war. Greek ships that were  long and skinny and were faster were made for battle. the ships that were more round were made for transporting goods.
In the war they were mainly used for transporting troops and naval weapons. These ships could go up to 14.6 km an hour.  The ships had a full fighting deck for men to fight just in case they go into battle. There were approximately 100 men aboard.
